In the stronghold of PM Mr. Narendra Modi, an independent candidate Annapurna Singh has defeated the BJP candidate, Dr. Sudama Patel. Annapurna is the wife of Mr. Brijesh Singh and was born and raised in the Baruin village under the Zamania Kotwali area of the Ghazipur.

Mrs. Annapurna Singh completed her education at the Hindu Inter College of Zamania. Singh is the youngest among her two brothers and three sisters and she is also the most loved one in her family. 

Annapurna Singh married Brijesh Singh in the 1990s. Singh contested the MLC elections of the year 2010 on a BSP ticket and marked a victory. After this, her husband Brijesh Singh contested in the election the year 2016 and also won this seat quite easily.

Brijesh Singh’s elder brother Mr. Uday Nath Singh has also got the MLC election seat from Varanasi-Bhadohi-Chandauli.

Mr. Sushil Singh, who is the nephew of Annapurna, is a BJP MLA from the Sayedaraja assembly seat of the Chandauli presently. Mr. Sushil Singh is also considered a strong leader of the Bhartiya Janta Party.

Who Is Mafia Don Brijesh Singh?

Brijesh Singh, who is the husband of Annapurna Singh, is imprisoned in jail. His family members are considered to be dominant in this seat and there were a total of 4,949 votes for the seat. Annapurna’s husband is also known as Bahubali by the local people of Ghazipur as he has got a good hold of the area.

Annapurna Singh got 4,234 votes. However, Umesh Yadav of the Samajwadi Party got 345 votes and at the same time, BJP stood third in this seat. Party candidate Dr. Sudama Patel got only a total of 170 votes. In all, the BJP swept the elections as it took home 33 out of the 36 seats on offer.
