The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) released the final results of the UPSC Civil Services exam 2021 today, May 30. While more than 75% of qualified students were male, top ranks were dominated by females this year, with women taking the top four spots.

Who Is Ankita Agarwal?
Ankita Agarwal, who recently made news for clinching 2nd rank in UPSC Civil Services exam 2021 has always been known for being a studious girl. While her exact age isn’t known, she is aged around 26 years.
She hails from Kolkata, West Bengal. Her father is a businessman. She enjoys reading in her spare time and used to play basketball. She is a strong single lady who enjoys giving back to the country what she got from it.
She secured the second rank in the examination with political science and international relations as her optional subject and cleared the examination in her third attempt. She was selected in the IRS in her first attempt, is currently under probation at the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes and Narcotics (NACIN) in Haryana’s Faridabad.
She graduated from Delhi University’s St. Stephen’s College with a bachelor’s degree in Economics (Hons). After finishing her studies, she then went on to work for Dalberg (a consultancy corporation) for a year. While working there, she covered many countries including Bangladesh.
How Did She Become A Topper?
After doing a job for 1 year in the private industry, she quickly recognized that she wanted to be an IAS officer and went on to pursue her ambition. She then resigned from her corporate job in 2018 to prepare for the UPSC CSE Exam.
She took the Civil Services Examination in 2019 and received the 236th position, which is truly amazing. However, she appears to be dissatisfied with this. That’s why she’s doing it again this year. And hopefully, she not only improved her rank this time but also gained a lot of attention as she got an All-India rank-2 which is difficult to chase.
