Ichiro Mizuki’s team announced the news of his passing on social media. Toshio Hayakawa, also known as Mizuki, passed away suddenly on December 6 at 6:50 p.m. 

Ichiro Mizuki’s Illness 

According to Forbes, he was born on January 7, 1948, and experienced vocal cord partial paralysis in April 2021. After his operation in June 2022, he made his lung cancer diagnosis public. When it was discovered that Mizuki’s disease had spread to his lymph nodes and brain, he was frequently taken to the hospital for radiation therapy. 

Despite being ill, the singer gave his final live performance on November 27 for the audience.

He was 74 when he died and his real name was Toshio Hayakawa. His net worth stood at $2 million but his family and wife details are not known.

Ichiro Mizuki Famous Songs 

In 1968, he issued Kimi Ni Sasageru Boku No Uta as his debut single. He didn’t return to music until 1971, as a result of his lack of commercial success. Ryu, the Cave Boy’s (Genshi Shonen Ryu) opening theme, Genshi Shonen Ryu Ga Iku, was Mizuki’s debut anime song gig theme. 

His five-decade career as “Aniki,” the “big brother” of the anime music scene, officially began with the release of the song. More than 1,200 songs by Mizuki were recorded. These included hits from popular anime Mazinger Z, Lupin the Third, Part 2, and Space Pirate Captain Harlock.
