On April 13, 1964, Andy Goram was born in Bury, Lancashire, England. Goram was born and reared in England, yet he identified himself as Scottish from his early years. The 58 year old had a height of 1.81m.

He was the son of Lewis Albert Goram, a Scottish professional football goalkeeper who played for Leith Athletic, Hibernian, Third Lanark, and Bury in the 1940s and 1950s.

Andy Goram passed away while being single. However, he had married three times. In 1985, he married his first wife Jackie Taylor. However, they got divorced later in the same year. His subsequent marriages to Tracey Fitzpatrick, which lasted from 1991 to 1997, and Miriam Wylie, which lasted from 2001 to 2004, both ended in divorce.

He had two sons and their names are Danny and Lewis. Danny was his son with his first wife Jackie and Lewis, his second was born with his second wife, Tracey.

His Career

Andy began his playing career with Oldham Athletic and Hibernian, but he is most known for his time spent with Rangers in the 1990s when he became known as “The Goalie.” Goram won the title of Rangers’ greatest goalkeeper ever in a 2001 fan survey.

Goram represented Scotland in 43 international games and was chosen for their teams at the UEFA Euro 1992 and UEFA Euro 1996 tournaments, as well as the 1986 and 1990 World Cups.

Andy Goram played for several teams after his stint with the Rangers, although his most notable stops were Motherwell and a brief time at Manchester United. He was the only player to play for Scotland at the international level in both cricket and football. He also represented Scotland in Cricket.
