Following a meeting earlier today, Andre Onana’s Manchester United salary and contract terms apparently appear to have been settled. The star of Inter Milan is getting closer to signing a five-year, €7 million a year contract with Manchester United, claims Italian publication Sport Mediaset, as cited and translated by Sport Witness.
Currently, Onana dons No.24 for Inter, which is the number he has worn for almost all of his senior career at club-level but his jersey number at Manchester United isn’t known.
United are set to complete the signing of Onana for a fee of €50m (£43m/$56m) plus €5m (£4m/$6m) in add-ons, reports Fabrizio Romano after he club made their ‘final verbal proposal’ for the goalkeeper on Thursday, and only the structure of the bonuses now need to be discussed.
Onana has excelled in Serie A and was a vital member of Inter’s journey to the Champions League final, which they lost 1-0 to Manchester City, in the previous year. The Cameroon international certainly appears to be a key addition for the Red Devils, who presumably needed to replace David de Gea nevertheless even if the Spaniard has just left the club after his contract expired.
However, according to the reports, United and Inter still need to come to an agreement, but it appears like they may be getting close. Tomorrow, a formal bid is anticipated, with United potentially prepared to give up to €60 million to secure the 27-year-old custodian.

According to football trade specialist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United is making headway towards bringing in two goalkeepers this summer.
