Despite flying under the radar for much of its development, the series promises to be one of the best series as of yet.
Andor is created by Tony Gilroy, who’s one of the writers behind Rogue One. The series will follow Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor as the story of the series will tell how he became one of the Rebellion’s top operatives.
But what exactly can we expect from the newest Star Wars series Andor. Let’s explore.
Andor Release Date and Plot Preview
Andor was originally set to be scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on August 31, though the series has been delayed by a few weeks. Now the show will premiere on Wednesday, September 21, 2022.
The show focused on the story of the burgeoning Rebel Alliance and how it grew from a handful of individuals into the fighting force that managed to wipe out the Galactic Empire.
Furthermore, it focuses on the titular Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) and follows the journey of him from being a good-for-nothing thief to turning into a hero of the Rebellion.
This all happened within a galaxy wrought with intrigue, deception and betrayal.
Total Episodes in Andor
The first season of the series consists of a total of 12 episodes.
So far, it’s the biggest live-action Star Wars series as The Mandalorian has only featured a total of 8 episodes per season. While The Book of Boba Fett had 7, and Obi-Wan Kenobi consisted of just 6 chapters.
To make it more appealing, the showrunners have decided to release the first 3 episodes of Andor altogether on September 21, before it reverts to a weekly release schedule.
