Anderson Silva Boxing: The 46-year-old Brazilian fighter, Anderson Silva calls it a time for his MMA career as he hangs up his gloves as one of the best fighters of all time in the UFC.

Having registered only one win against his name since 2013, it seems like the veteran MMA fighter has been outpoured with action of mixed martial arts.

In a conversation with ESPN’s Ariel Helwani, Silva revealed that his MMA career is over as it is hard for him to train himself according to the body requirements the sport requires against the modern-era professionals 

UFC recently revealed that after Anderson’s Silva’s last fight against Uriah Hall, the former has managed only 1 win against since 2013 and as a result of his form, the organization would not be scheduling him up against other same divisional fighters.

Even though it seems Anderson Silva will be taking it easier than before; he is still booked to fight Mexican legend Julio Cesar Chavez Jr next month in a boxing exhibition.  

The event will take place at 55,000-capacity Jalisco Stadium in Guadalajara and should prove to be a decent money-making affair for both combat sport legends. 

Anderson Silva’s Illustrious MMA Career 

Having spoken about his boxing debut against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, Anderson Silva has been the greatest MMA fighter ever to hail from Brazil. The latter held the UFC Middleweight Title for nearly seven years, from 2006 to 2013. 

Anderson Silva who was also known was ‘The Spider’ holds the record for the longest title reign standing at 2,457 days. Not only does he also hold the longest winning streak’s record (16), but has got the most finishes (9) in a UFC Title Fight.

The Brazilian veteran is known to be the inspiration of many South American fighters like Kamaru Usman, Israel Adesanya, etc as he constantly showcased the modern-era fighters how to use raw power and agility to stamp your authority over the guys who are twice your size and built. 

It is safe to say that the legacy Anderson Silva will behind in the octagon is going to speak volumes about his performances in UFC for generations to come.
