On Thursday, October 13, the AMAs dropped their nominations list for this year’s awards, while the likes of BTS and other worldwide famous artists are featured on the list.
It seems that at least one of everyone’s favorites is up for an award. So if there’s only one thing left to do is vote!
Who’s Leading the Nominations
As of now Bad Bunny is leading the nominations with 8 under their belt. However, Following that, Beyoncé, Drake and Taylor Swift are also close behind with a number of 6.
The multiple nominations are also seeing the likes of Adele, Harry Styles, The Weeknd and Future with 5 nods.
This year, Bad Bunny is receiving his first nominations for Artist of the Year category. Aside from him, Adele, Beyoncé, Drake, Harry Styles and The Weeknd are also in the same category.
Although some popular names are missing from the list like Ed Sheeran. For the last 5 years, the category has been seeing the 5 nominees for this award.
How to Vote in the AMAs in 2022
Coming back to the question, unlike other award shows, the AMAs are voted purely by fans. So really, whosoever gets the most dedicated fan base will nab the awards on the night.
There are 2 ways to vote for your favourite personalities such as:
Either on the AMAs website or
Via Twitter.
However, voting through the website couldn’t be much easier as you just have to click on the category and select for whom you want to vote. That’s it!
There are 37 categories in which you can take part in, so if you really want your voice to be heard, you might need to dedicate an afternoon to it.
Well, if you want to vote through Twitter, it’s also as simple as composing a tweet. You just simply need to mention for whom you’re voting for and in what category via using the hashtag #AMAs.
For an instance:
I’m voting for Backstreet Boys for Duo/Group of the Year at the #AMAs.
Although Backstreet Boys aren’t nominated in any category for the 2022 AMAs, it’s just an example to make you get the idea.
For those who think tweeting is kind of hard work, retweeting also counts as a vote. You just need to find someone who shares the same favourite artist or song as you on Twitter and you can retweet his/her tweet.
Rules for Voting
The voting rules limit you to 22 votes per day as per the voting category per voting method. Which simply means, that you can vote upto 1628 times a day.
The other rule is making sure you word your tweet right. If you misspell anything or forget to include one of the 3 crucial points, then your vote will be considered as invalid.
When will voting start?
For those who are unversed, let us tell you, Voting is now open in all except the category which is Favourite K-Pop artist.
This category will be open for voting on November 1. However, the voting for all the categories will be closed on Monday, November 14 at around 11:59:59 PT.
