Harris became famous after he tried out for the 13th season of “American Idol” in 2014. The crowd went wild for his performance of “Soulshine,” a song made famous by the Allman Brothers. Harris had plenty of experience performing at events of this kind. He told The Hollywood Reporter in 2014 that he tried out for “American Idol” in 2010. But was eliminated in the preliminary rounds.
