College career
Despite receiving offers from prominent universities including Alabama, Arizona, Auburn, Arizona State, and Kansas, Amen Thompson decided not to play collegiate basketball. Instead, he and his identical twin brother agreed to a two-year deal with Overtime Elite (OTE), a professional league with headquarters in Atlanta. They believed that enrolling in this course would best prepare them for their NBA aspirations.
Stats
At Pine Crest School, Amen Thompson averaged 16.9 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game as a sophomore. His junior season, when he averaged 20.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game, showed off his flexibility. Thompson led Pine Crest School to an astounding comeback victory with 43 points, and his outstanding play enabled Pine Crest to capture the Class 4A state championship.
