Stoudemire’s parents Hazell and Carrie separated when he was too young. He did not start playing organized basketball until he was 14 years old as an outcome of moving in and out with his mother and her problems with the law. Stoudemire transferred between 5 high schools in two states 6 different times. He first enrolled himself in the Lake Wales High School of Florida, where his freshman season was cut short due to academic ineligibility. Stoudemire got married and has 4 children with his wife, Alexis Welch. The two have now filed for divorce.
In March 2019, he received Israeli citizenship, and adopted the name Yahoshafat Ben Avraham and formally converted to Judaism with a Rabbinical court on August 26, 2020. In the early morning hours of February 6, 2012, Stoudemire’s older brother, Hazell, was killed in a car accident in Polk County.

Amare Stoudemire played high school basketball for 3 different schools and graduated from Cypress Creek High School which is based in Orlando, Florida. He achieved numerous prep honors, including being chosen for Florida’s Mr. Basketball. Stoudemire suffered chronic knee problems during his whole career and underwent microfracture surgery on both his knees. He played for teams like the Suns, the New York Knicks, the Dallas Mavericks, and the Miami Heat before retiring from NBA in 2016.

Stoudemire won a bronze medal with the United States national team in the 2004 Olympic Games. Later on, he achieved the championship with the Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2020 and was named the Israeli Basketball Premier League Finals of MVP.
