Who Was Allen Kay?
Allen Kay was a well-known American advertising executive and businessman. He has been in the news because he passed away recently.
His full name was Allen Steven Kay. He was born on November 25, 1945, in New York. His mother’s name is Estelle was a finance professional and his father’s name is Samuel Kay who was the comptroller at Grey Advertising in New York.
He started art classes at the Museum of Modern Art in New York when he was six years old, and did his fine arts education at The Art Students League of New York. He relocated from Manhattan’s Washington Heights to Fair Lawn, New Jersey, before beginning high school.
He graduated in 1963 after attending Fair Lawn High School there. Later, he studied at the Los Angeles Art Center College of Design. He graduated in 1967 with a BA and with honors.
He was married and his wife’s name is Susan Kay. He also has two daughters: Jill and Deana.
He died on November 27, 2022. He was 77 years old when he died.
His Career
Kay started working at the McCann Erickson advertising firm in New York two days after graduating. Aside from the MTA catchphrase, he has been recognized in the Hall of Fame for advertising campaigns thanks to his other slogans and advertisements that attracted millions of viewers.
After that, he moved on to start his own business, Korey Kay & Partners, which opened its doors in 1982. Additionally, he participated in a number of organizations for the advertising sector.
