With over 7,000 registrations since the preliminary online round started on May 17th, the much awaited All India K-pop Contest 2024, presented by the Korean Cultural Centre India in association with LG Electronics India, has already sparked enthusiasm.
K-pop artist Aoora gave the All India K-pop Contest a big boost this week by thrilling fans with a video message announcing his headline appearance at the regional round’s opening event in Bengaluru. An extension of the deadline for event registration was also announced by the contest.

Aoora revealed his impending performance at the All India K-pop Contest 2024 regional rounds opening in Bengaluru through a special notification posted on the Korean Cultural Centre India’s Instagram account. In addition, he urged K-pop enthusiasts all around India to sign up for the preliminary online round by June 28th, the newly extended deadline. The registration form can be found here.
Up to June 28th, 2024, participants can sign up for the prestigious All India K-pop Contest 2024, which honours the Hallyu wave in India. The possibility to travel to Korea will be awarded to the contest winners. Previously, the energetic K-pop group X:IN and the well-known K-pop boy band MCND offered support to competitors in the preliminary online round.
The event’s organisers intend to increase the event’s scope and effect in response to this increased interest.
Who is Aoora?
Park Min Jun is a South Korean singer and composer who goes by the stage name Aoora. On September 4, 2009, he made his debut as a member of the South Korean boy band Double-A, and then as a member of Aoora&Hoik, a subunit of the band. On March 28, 2014, Aoora released the digital song “Body Part,” marking his solo debut.
With over a million views on his mashup of the Indian song Swag Se Swagat, Aoora became well-known on September 23, 2022, particularly in India. Additionally, he published the Indian song Cham Cham’s remake. Aoora made a big step into the Indian entertainment industry with her recent wildcard entry on the reality show Bigg Boss 17.

The All India K-pop event in 2024 will take place in 11 different regions, with top-notch stages like the well-known Yashobhoomi Convention Centre in New Delhi, as well as locations in Mumbai and other significant towns. In just three weeks after the initial online round, over 7,000 people registered, indicating that K-pop is clearly growing significantly in India.
