Netra Jyoti College of Udupi, located near the Ambalpady Bypass, is a reputed private eye hospital and nursing home. Its reputation, however, faced a blot when it was discovered that these students, belonging to one community, allegedly hid a cell phone in the female restroom.

The intention was to record personal moments of females from a different community and circulate the footage among their peers via WhatsApp. Further reports indicate that the intrusive videos were not just limited to private sharing but were also disseminated on wider social media platforms.

Three female Muslim students Alimatul Shaifa, Shabanaz & Aliya of Prestigious Netra Jyoti College put spy cameras in Hindu girls toilets and recorded Hindu girls showering and using toilets and shared it with Muslim men.

Students and management rise to the occasion

When this grievous breach of privacy came to light, fellow students from Netra Jyoti College, deeply disturbed by the incident, mobilized the college administration to take immediate and appropriate action. The aftermath of the discovery was tumultuous. The reported instigators of this invasion of privacy clashed with other students, leading to heightened tensions between the two communities involved.
