Brighton successfully persuaded Mac Allister to sign a contract extension back in October out of fear that they might lose one of their key players at the conclusion of the season. At the end of the season, the player added a condition to that contract allowing him to speak with other teams. With Brighton, Liverpool has been able to negotiate a sum that is not fixed but rather is based on a number of different criteria. Alexis Mac Allister has officially signed with Liverpool for an initial fee of ยฃ45 million and it is confirmed that the 24-year-old Argentinian has signed a five-year contract through 2028 with the Reds.

He is believed to have signed a five-year deal at Liverpool worth ยฃ150,000-per-week.

Mac Allister joined Brighton in January 2019 after leaving Argentinos Juniors, where he returned on loan for six months before another brief stint with Boca Juniors. He spent three and a half successful seasons at Brighton before joining Liverpool.

Mac Allister made his Premier League debut in March 2020 and went on to play in 112 games for the south coast club, 98 of which were in the top flight. In fact, he faced Liverpool as a rival six times. He also contributed nine assists while scoring 20 goals for Brighton.

In 16 appearances for Argentina at the international level, he has scored one, the first goal in a 2-0 victory over Poland in Group C of their victorious World Cup campaign. During the competition, he made six starts and assisted Angel Di Maria in La Albiceleste’s stunning victory over France in the championship match.
