According to a report by Fox News, on Wednesday night, the musician was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at 56th Annual Country Music Association Awards.
The award ceremony was held at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.

While accepting the award, ‘The Older I Get,’ fame singer stated that, “Country music has been real good to me and I fell in love with it when I was a young man.”
The ‘Good Time’ singer further went on to add that, “And I love the lyrics and the songs and the artists and the melodies and the harmonies. Itโs just a real American music to me.”
The American song-writer even thanked his wife during his speech as he expressed, “We started out as teenagers and sheโs been on this roller coaster ride with me for 40 something years now.โ
The 2-time Academy Award Winner revealed that his wife helped him go through hard times before saying he is not an easy person to love.
In his speech he said, “Iโm probably not always the easiest person to love, but sheโs hung in there and helped me through hard times and we share great times.
