According to the manager of Ajanta Circus, Sanjit Ghoshal, the first show will take place on Thursday and will run for 40 days throughout the city. The performances will take place a” Bhubaneswar’s Unit 3 Exhibition Ground. The circus will last approximately two and a half hours. Every day, there will be between 30 and 32 things. The ticket prices range from Rs 100 to Rs 300. The show times are 1 p.m., 3 p.m., and 7 p.m.
In his statement, Ghoshal stated that “The duration of the circus will be two-and-a-half hours. There will be 30 to 32 items daily. Keeping the market condition in view, we have lowered the ticket price here. The prices are Rs 100, 150, 200 and 300. And the timings of the shows are 1 pm, 3 pm and 7 pm.”
He further added that “After a long gap, we have brought Ajanta Circus to Bhubaneswar. In the past, we had already performed in almost all the cities including Bhubaneswar. There is a hell and heaven difference between the circus of those days and the circus of the present days.
“The main difference is that earlier there used to be animal shows and now, we don’t have any such shows. This is why we have performers from foreign countries like Ethiopia, Africa and Russia.”
He continued “17 years ago when we visited Bhubaneswar, we had lions, tigers, elephants, horses, bears, monkeys, dogs and parrots. Our next visit to the capital city was in 2012 and then we didn’t have lion, tiger, bear and monkey.
Even if the glitter has worn off, the spirit of the Circus lives on. A trip to the circus will be a nostalgic stroll down memory lane for many elderly people, bringing back childhood memories. Children should be taken to the shows because they will be amazed and delighted. After nearly a decade, the circus has returned to town; perhaps this is your final chance to see the big top.
In the previous fifty years, Bhubaneswar has witnessed performances by some of the best Indian circuses, including the Great Bombay Circus, Gemini Circus, Rambo Circus, Great Rayman Circus, Raj Kamal Circus, Jumbo Circus, and Empire Circus.
