This year’s Airthings Masters 2022 chess league phase has seen the completion of semi-final, we take a look at the latest results, standings, table, final schedule, prize pool

In total, sixteen participants competed in the round-robin stage of the online event, with eight moving on to the knockout stage.

Airthings Masters 2022 Chess Finals Schedule, Date, Time

The event started from February 19 and will run till February 26, with action starting at 18.00 CET every day. The tournament is taking place in online mode due to travel restrictions. Today will be the last day of finals at Airthings Masters as the final showdown will be decided.

February 26- Last day of Finals

Day-7 featured the first four round of final matches. After a nail-biting series of matches, Nepo and Carlsen were tied 2-2 by drawing all four games. The last rounds of final at Airthings masters will begin from 26th February 18:00 CET.

Airthings Masters Chess 2022 Day 7 Finals Results And Score

The Airthings Masters final turned out to be a repeat of the recent world championship match. Carlsen and Nepo faced off for the first time following Carlsen’s victory in the World Championship match in Dubai.


Unsurprisingly, all four matches on Day 7 resulted in a tie to leave both players tied at 2-2. Carlsen must be frustrated that he did not win take the lead after opening round of matches, as he was on the verge of winning three of the four games. Nepomniachtchi deserves credit for his never-say-die spirit.

Nepo finished first after the prelims with a 4-point lead over Carlsen but Carlsen proved his mettle in the later stages and is currently on the cusp of winning the tournament. However, Nepo will be looking to spoil the party with a close-win over Carlsen.

Tournament Format

The quarterfinals and semi-finals were 1-day, 4-game matches, while the final will feature two such matches over two days in which the players will have 15 minutes for all the moves, plus a 10-second increment starting from move 1.

Tournament Rules

Starting with move 1, the players have 15 minutes to complete all of their moves, plus a 10-second increment. A win earns 3 points, while a tie earns 1 point in the preliminary round.

If a tiebreak is necessary, the players will play two 5+3 games and, if necessary, a single Armageddon game, in which White has 5 minutes against Black’s 4, but a tie count as a win for Black. Before move 40, no draw offers are permitted.
