Her son, Jeremy D. Bennett, informed her of the news on Monday. In his Facebook post, he wrote,

I’m sorry to say with a broken heart mi mum passed over the weekend.

Elizabeth Hubbard was a well-known American actress. She has been in the news because she passed away recently at the age of 89.

She was born on December 22, 1933, in New York City, New York, U.S. Her mother’s name is Elizabeth Wright Hubbard, and her father’s name is Benjamin Alldritt Hubbard. She also has two brothers named Theodore and Merle.

After completing her schooling, Elizabeth Hubbard attended Radcliffe College. Later, she attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London, where she pursued her theatrical education.

From 1970 until 1972, she was married to furrier David Bennett; their son, Jeremy Bennett, was born on September 20, 1971.

She died on April 8, 2023, in Roxbury, Connecticut. At the time of her death, she was 89 years old.

Elizabeth Hubbard made her Broadway debut in a 1955 production of Threepenny Open as a stand-in performer. She debuted in a soap opera in 1962 with the role of Anne Fletcher in Guiding Light. In 1963, she portrayed Carol Kramer in The Edge of Night.

During her career, she played significant roles in both television and film. Her portrayal of Althea Davis in the NBC soap opera The Doctors earned her the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 1974.

Subsequently, Elizabeth Hubbard portrayed the entrepreneur Lucinda Walsh on the CBS soap opera As the World Turns (1984–2010), which led to her being nominated for eight Daytime Emmy Awards.

In addition to her work on television, she also acted in films such as I Never Sang for My Father (1970), The Bell Jar (1979), and Ordinary People (1980).  She received yet another Emmy Award for her performance as former First Lady Edith Wilson in the 1976 television film First Ladies Diaries: Edith Wilson.
