Shetty also serves as the film’s writer, director, and lead actor. The story of a local deity (Bhoota) trading forest lands with a monarch in 1870 for bliss is told in the film. Many years later, when the king’s son sought to reclaim the country out of avarice, he was killed by Bhoota’s anger.

Who Is Rishab Shetty?

Rishab Shetty is a well-known Indian filmmaker and actor who is well-known for his work Kannada film industry. He has been in the news because his movie Kantara has been a raging storm on all over India with many people praising his filmmaking and skills.

His real name is Prashant Shetty. He was born on July 7, 1983, in Keradi village, Kundapura, Udupi, Karnataka. His father’s name is Y. Bhaskar Shetty who is an astrologer while his mother’s name is Lakshmi Shetty. He also has one sister named Pratibha Hegde who works at Wipro.

He did his schooling at Board High School in Kundapur, Karnataka. He went on to do a diploma in film direction from the government film and television Institute in Bengaluru. Later, he did a master of business administration in human resources from Vijaya College, Jayanagar, Bengaluru.

He is married and his spouse’s name is Pragathi Shetty. They have two children together and their names are Ranvit Shetty and Raadya Shetty.

His height is 178 cm or 5 ft 10 inches. He is currently 39 years old.

His Career

Rishab Shetty started off helping Arvind Kaushik on a TV show before making his acting debut in “Thuglak.” In Pawan Kumar’s “Lucia,” he had a minor role as a police officer, while in Rakshit Shetty’s “Ulidavaru Kandante,” he had a major role.

Then, in 2016, his first film as a director, “Ricky,” starring Rakshit Shetty, was released. The following year, he also produced “Kirik Party,” which went on to become a big blockbuster in the business.

At the 66th National Film Awards, his third directorial effort, “Sarkaari Hiriya Praathamika Shaale Kaasaragodu,” took home the National Award for Best Children’s Film.
