Rainn Wilson’s Family And Education

Rainn is the son of Shay Cooper who is a yoga teacher and an actress. His father is Robert G. Wilson is a novelist, artist, and business consultant who has wrote the science fiction novel Tentacles of Dawn. Rainn studied at Kellogg Middle School and later from Shorecrest High School based in Shoreline, Washington. The 56 year old has a height of 1.89m.

Rainn Wilson completed his further education at Tufts University from Medford, Massachusetts before he got transferred to the University of Washington in Seattle. Hee graduated with a bachelor’s degree in drama in 1986. Rainn then studied from the University of New York in the Acting Program at the Tisch School of the Arts where he graduated with an MFA in acting. Later, Wilson got married to his love of life, well-known writer Holiday Reinhorn.

Rainn Wilson first appeared onscreen in 1997 in an episode of the soap opera One Life to Live which was followed by a supporting role in the television film The Expendables in 1999. He further made his feature film debut in Galaxy Quest which was followed by a minor supporting role in Cameron Crowe’s Almost Famous in 2000.

In 2005, Rainn Wilson appeared in the comedy film Sahara and in the independent mockumentary movie named The Life Coach. On the 24th of February in 2007, Rainn hosted Saturday Night Live becoming one of the second cast members from The Office to host.

Wilson appeared in Fox Atomic comedy The Rocker and it was released on 20th August in 2008. In 2009 he lent his voice to the DreamWorks Animation movie Monsters vs. Aliens as the villainous alien overlord Gallaxhar. He was featured in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen in which he played a university professor.

In 2019, he performed in the independent drama Blackbird opposite actors Susan Sarandon and Kate Winslet. In 2020 Wilson starred in the independent thriller named Don’t Tell a Soul. Rainn was an executive producer and narrator for the Netflix documentary series We Are the Champions in 2020.

Rainn Wilson launched the website and YouTube channel SoulPancake. He co-wrote the New York Times bestseller Soul Pancake: Chew on Life’s Big Questions and he wrote a humorous memoir about his personal life, career and faith called The Bassoon King that got published in 2015 November. Further, Wilson starred in the comedy audio series Dark Air with Terry Carnation in which he also voices the title character.
