Pratap Pothen, a well-known actor and filmmaker of Malayali cinema passed away at the age of 70, know his cause of death and wife name
The Panchmanga actor took his last breath in his house in Kilpauk, Chennai.

No details about the cause of the Actor’s death have been revealed so far but he was seen writing about life and death on Facebookm just moments before his demise which could allude towards him taking his own life. However, an official reason is yet to be disclosed.
Pratap Pothen Biography
Born in 1952 in Thiruvananthapuram, Pratap is an actor, film producer, scriptwriter, and director. He completed his schooling at Lawrence School, Lovedale in Ooty for his schooling. Later he went to Madras Christian College for his graduation.
Pratap and actress Raadhika married back in 1985. The couple divorced in 1986. He married Amala Sathyanath in 1990. In 2012, the two ended their 22-year-long marriage. Amala and Pratap have a together, Keya.
He was found dead on July 15th 2022 in his residence in Kerala.
Pothen’s Career
Pothen has worked in more than 100 movies. He has appeared in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and other films.
Pratap Pothen has also won awards for his work in the films, ‘Thakara,’ ‘Chamaram,’ ‘Meendum Oru Kaathal Kathai,’ ‘Rithubhedam,’ and ’22 Female Kottayam.’
He is the director of blockbuster Teleugu movies, ‘Rithubhedam,’ ‘Daisy,’ ‘Oru Yathramozhi,’ and ‘Chaitanya’. Among his other films, Pothen also directed Vetri Vizha, starring the celebrated actor, Haasan.
The senior actor is known for his excellent dialogue delivery. He made his last appearance in the movie, ‘CBI5 The Brain’, starring superstar Mammooty. The movie was released earlier this year on May 1st.
The movie is available to stream on the OTT platform, Netflix.
