He was best known for his role in ‘The Omen’, ‘Tron’ and playing the villainous role in 1997s blockbuster “Titanic”.

The tragic news of an actor who played versatile roles in ‘Shakespearean Tragedies’ demise was confirmed by his family in a statement.

In their statement, Warmer’s family said the actor died from cancer-related illness at Denville Hall, a retirement home for British actors and notable entertainment industry figures in London.

In their statement, his family said to BBC, “It is with an overwhelmingly heavy heart that we share the news of the actor David Warner’s (at the age of nearly 81) death from a cancer-related illness in the early hours of July 24th”.

The tragic news of his demise came after one year of his cancer diagnosis. The Statement continued, “Over the past 18 months he approached his diagnosis with a characteristic grace and dignity.

He will be missed hugely by us, his family and friends, and remembered as a kind-hearted, generous, and compassionate man, partner, and father, whose legacy of extraordinary work has touched the lives of so many over the years. We are heartbroken”.

After learning the news of his death, fans mourned and celebrated his life and career on social media. Many other celebrities paid their tributes for Warner’s life achievements and contributions towards industry.

David Warner’s Life and Career

David was born in 1941 in Manchester. Growing up, he spent most of his time in the care of his both parents. He described his childhood as “troubled” and “messy”.

Throughout their life, his parents never married. His Russian-Jewish father enrolled him in a series of boarding schools. His mother left him when he was a teenager.

During his high school, he started attending the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London. He was very self-conscious about his acting and appearance from the very start.

After joining the Royal Shakespeare Company at the age of 21, he was casted as a lead in Karel Reisz’s critically acclaimed film ‘Morgan’, ‘A Suitable Case For Treatment’. And later on in RSC cast him as “Hamlet” in 1965.

He focused on playing villainous roles such as in Terry Gilliams, Time Bandits, the time-travel sci-fi, Time After Time, and the groundbreaking computer adventure ‘Tron’.

Later he collaborated with Sam Peckinpah for 3 films such as ‘The Ballad of Cable Hogue, Straw Dogs, and Cross of Iron’. His other notable appearances include ‘The Omen’ and ‘The Man With Two Brains’.

Later, in 1987, David moved to Hollywood where he lived for 15 years. Aside from Titanic he has appeared in many US TV shows such as ‘Star Trek, Doctor Who, Twin Peaks and The League of Gentlemen’s Apocalypse’.

David is survived by his partner Bowerman and 2 children Melissa Warner and Luke Warner. His height stood at 1.88m while his net worth was $8 million.
