Abhirami Venkatachalam was born to Aruna and Venkatachalam. She has a brother named Krishna Kumar. She attended Sri Sankara Senior Secondary School. For her higher studies, Abhirami attended Rukmini Devi College of Arts.

Abhirami Venkatachalam began her career as a model and she has won the Miss Tamil Nadu title. In early 2016, Venkatachalam starred in the web series Ctrl Alt Delete. In the same year, she hosted the reality show Star Wars on Sun TV. Later on, she made her debut after the release of Anand Shankar’s NOTA in 2018, which portrayed a love interest, by senior actors Nassar and Sathyaraj.
Abhirami then appeared in Kalavu as a lead actor. In the same year, she participated in the third season of Bigg Boss Tamil. After auditioning for numerous movies including Kaatru Veliyidai and Vikram Vedha, she landed a role in the film Nerkonda Paarvai in 2019. In a review of a movie by The Week, the critic said, “Abhirami is at best when he has shouts and cries in the courtroom”.
Abhirami was also part of a web series named Iru Dhruvam. Abhirami has signed a film titled Gajen and an untitled film with Aari Arjuna as well.
