The BJP attacked Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal after the video went viral on Friday, pleading with him to dismiss Gautam, who claimed that no one spoke a word against the gods and goddesses of any faith or anything that harms anyone’s religious emotions.
The Aam Aadmi Party and the Delhi government did not respond in an official capacity, but sources within the AAP reported the chief minister was “very displeased” with Gautam, the social welfare minister.

Who Is Rajendra Pal Gautam?
Rajendra Pal Gautam is an Indian politician who has been a part of the Aam Aadmi Party. He has been in the news because he recently stroked controversy after condemning Hindu deities at the Buddhist missionary event in Delhi.
He was born on 26 April 1968 in Delhi. His father’s name is Dalip Singh. He and his family follow Buddhism.
He did his schooling at a local school. He graduated from Delhi University with an LL.B. and works as an advocate. He also holds a post-graduate diploma in human resource management and a diploma in labor legislation. He is a Buddhist activist and an Ambedkarite by ideology.
Rajendra Pal Gautam is married. However, nothing much is known about his wife and his children.
Presently, he is 54 years old.
His Career
After being a lawyer for years, Rajendra Pal Gautam joined Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in 2014.
He was elected as an MLA from Seemapuri, Delhi, in the Sixth Legislative Assembly of Delhi as an AAP member. In the 2015 elections, he handily won against Karamvir of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by a margin of 48,821.
He was appointed a cabinet minister in the third Kejriwal ministry and is in charge of several government entities in Delhi, including the ministries of social welfare, SC & ST, cooperative, gurudwara elections, and women’s and children’s issues.
