74/10 (vs Australia, 2008)
Despite winning the 2007 T20 World Cup under the leadership of MS Dhoni just before this T20 International in their tour of Australia, the Men in Blue couldn’t pull through. They batted first and kept on losing wickets through reckless shots and careless runouts. Irfan Pathan had the highest score with 26 runs out of 74. Australia chased down the target in 11.2 overs by nine wickets.
79/10 (vs New Zealand, 2016)
The Kiwis had won the toss and decided to bat first at the VCA Stadium on 15th March, 2016. They had put up a target of 126 runs but India was unable to chase the low score. New Zealand had the Men in Blue all-out at 18.1 overs with only 79 runs on the board. MS Dhoni was their highest scorer with only 30 runs.
81/8 (vs Sri Lanka, 2021)
This is India’s third-lowest total in the T20 format as they limped to 81 for 8. Kuldeep Yadav scored the most runs at 23 not out, with Ruturaj Gaikwad and Bhuvneshwar Kumar scoring 14 and 16 runs, respectively. Wanindu Hasaranga took 4 wickets haul and received good support from captain Dasun Shanaka. The latter bagged 2 and took 2 outstanding catches.

In this match against South Africa on 5th October, 2015, India scored a total of 92 runs before the rival team knocked them out in 17.2 overs. Suresh Raina and Rohit Sharma were the highest run-scorers with 22 runs each. Funnily, South Africa also chased the target in 17 overs though they won by 6 wickets.

Sri Lanka is the only team India has put its lowest T20I score on the board against. This match happened on 9th February, 2016 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium. Sri Lanka won the match by 5 wickets with Ravichandran Ashwin being India’s highest run-scorer at 31 runs.
