On Wednesday night, the New York Yankees defeated the Cincinnati Reds 7-6 after 10 innings. Fans of the Bronx Bombers physically assaulted one another in the stands. Who knows what set this out, but the man wearing the green Aaron Judge jersey received a full slap to the face and didn’t even get up. He then got his cap knocked off while continuing to exert self-control. The young man then struck him in the face, and that was all.
In the first and second innings, the Cincinnati Reds added four runs, one in each. To make it 5-4, the New York Yankees then erupted for a five-run outburst in the third inning.
Before Giancarlo Stanton’s game-tying home drive to right field in the bottom of the eighth, the Reds scored two runs in the fifth.
The game went into extra innings following a ninth inning without scoring. In the top of the first, Yankees reliever Michael King managed to get out of a jam. Reds relief pitcher Alexis Diaz delivered a wild pitch to move the runners into scoring position with runners on first and second. On the following pitch, Diaz repeated the mistake, resulting in D.J. LeMahieu scoring the game-winning run off a wild pitch.
The Yankees have now won 10 walk-off games this year with this victory.
It will be quite intriguing to observe how the New York Yankees’ year develops as the season enters its second half. Tomorrow’s rubber game between the Yankees and Reds will determine who wins this series.
