The video of the state senator rapidly got a lot of attention, but she also drew criticism from detractors.

Tiara Mack represents the 6th Senate Division of Rhode Island.
Born in Atlanta and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, the senator relocated to Providence, Rhode Island, in 2012 to attend Brown University.
She began her career in academia as a student, instructing sex-ed in Providence institutions.
According to the senator’s webpage, she presently serves as a youth organizer. Assisting the younger generation in participating in social concerns.
In January 2021, the 28-year-old has become the first black publicly homosexual woman elected to the Rhode Island legislature.
TWERKS IN TIKTOK VIDEO BY RHODE ISLAND SENATOR:
Tiara Mack set jaws spinning when she posted a TikTok video of herself twerking on July 4. The video was shot on the famed Block Island shoreline and has received over 5,000 likes thus far.
The senator, dressed in a multicolor two-piece bikini, stands in front of the lens even before the camera moves to her twerking backward.
She begs us to “vote senator Mack” after exhibiting to us her super sexy dances.
The video stirred a lot of eyebrows, with many individuals sharply criticizing the senator for her TikTok prank. She was quick to respond, though, and shouted out several of her detractors in her TikToks.
Senator Mack responded to a second reviewer who remarked. “You’ve set the campaign back YEARS with this,” saying, “this is nasty, this is lazy,” before concluding, “baby girl, nooo, the above ain’t it.”
“After uploading this, I don’t want to hear you moan about just how women are not really respected in this nation,” one user said. “I have an IVY league diploma and I am a serving state senator,” the Rhode Island senator said.
