Facebook and Instagram users also complained about messages disappearing before being delivered. The first report was recorded on July 5th at 8 pm and is still going on. It is not clear if the glitch is being caused due to a bug or if the company is updating the application algorithm. The organisation has not yet responded to problems faced by users across the world.
Most of the features of the photo sharing app are working fine, including reels, IGTV live, feed, and stories. The glitch is being recorded with the Direct Messages feature of the app. The message immediately disappears just after being sent.
Instagram launched back in 2010 and currently has over 12.5% of the world population using the application. The app has more than 1 billion monthly users from all over the world.
According to DownDetector, approximately 40% of the users are having trouble logging in. The social media platform’s users are outraged as the glitch continues on the second day and are sharing their frustration and complaints on Twitter.
One user tweeted, “”@Instagram messages are not sending nor receiving Since 3hours ago and bug report is also not sending ..please help me with this.. Please,”
Another user wrote, ” Am I only the one who is facing issues with Instagram DM Message are showing sending and I’m not able to see new messages It’s really very frustrating.”

- Try relaunching the application.
- Try switching to mobile data from wifi and resending the messages that are stuck.
- Make sure that you are using the latest version of the app.
