Mahua Moitra was born on 12th of October in 1974 and is a well-known Indian politician and a member of parliament in 17th Lok Sabha from Krishnanagar, West Bengal.

Mahua Moitra was born to Mr. Dwipendra Lal Moitra and Mrs. Manjoo Moitra. Moitra went to a school in her hometown Kolkata. She graduated in the subject of economics and mathematics in year 1998 from Mount Holyoke College South Hadley in Massachusetts, United States.

Moitra has revealed that she had lived in Scandinavia and that her ex-husband was Danish financier Lars Brorson. She is aged 47 and was born on 12 October 1947 and is a Hindu by religion and was born into a Brahmin family. She doesn’t have any siblings and there is no information about her children.

Mahua Moitra Professional Career

Moitra served as a member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly representing Karimpur from the year 2016 to 2019. She has also served as the general secretary and the national spokesperson of the AITC for a few years. Mahua Moitra was an investment banker before entering politics.

Mahua quit her position as vice-president at JP Morgan Chase in London in 2009 to enter Indian politics. Moreover, she joined the Indian Youth Congress, the youth wing of the Indian National Congress party where she was among the trusted hands of Rahul Gandhi in the project “Aam Admi Ka Sipahi”.

In 2010, she shifted to the All India Trinamool Congress party and contested from the Karimpur constituency in the Nadia district, West Bengal in the Legislative Assembly elections held in 2016. Mahua has been elected as a member of parliament to the 17th Lok Sabha from Krishnanagar, West Bengal, India.

On the 13th of November in year 2021, she was appointed as the TMC party’s Goa in charge to prepare the party for contesting in year 2022 Goa Legislative Assembly election.
