Due to allegations of “sexual misconduct” while on a foreign tour, former Indian football player Alex Ambrose has been fired from his role as assistant coach of the India U17 women’s football team.

After one of the players complained about the assistant coach, Ambrose was ordered to go back to India.
To prepare for the U17 World Cup that India will host in October, the Indian U17 Women’s team is now touring Italy and Norway.
The Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators, which is in charge of the All India Football Federation, has temporarily suspended Ambrose.

Who Is Alex Ambrose?
Alex Ambrose was a former Indian footballer who was lately in the news after he was sacked from his post of assistant coach of the India U17 women’s football team.
Alex Mario Ambrose, popularly known as Alex Ambrose was born on 8 September 1982 in Mumbai, India. Presently, he is 39 years old. His height is known to be 1.72 metres or 5 ft 7.5 inches.
He started playing from an early age. He mostly played in the striker’s position in the game.
Currently, he is studying in Kolkata for his AFC A License Course.
His Career
He started his professional career with Salgaocar football club from 2000 to 2003. Later on, he went on to play for Dempo Mining corporation limited’s club from 2004 to 2005, NRB Vasco sports club in 2006, Mumbai football club from 2007 to 2011 and Air India football club from 2011 to 2013.
Alex scored 7 goals in 11 games, making him the highest-scoring Indian in the National League from 2002 to 2003.
After this, he went on to become a coach of various football teams. He first assisted the Mumbai football club from 2013 to 2014, as a coach. After this, he assisted Mumbai City FC as an assistant coach.
After this, he became the assistant coach of the Indian women’s national under-20 football team. But recently, he has been sacked from his post after he was accused of sexual misconduct by one of the players of his team.
