Participating Teams, Countries And Format
Like in 2018, there will be 16 teams participating in the competition. The host nation, Spain, and the Netherlands will all receive automatic spots in addition to the five regional champions. When the 2020 Summer Olympics were postponed, the number of berths made available through continental championships—including the World Cup hosts—was expanded from six to sixteen. 2022 Women’s FIH Hockey World Cup India vs China Preview, Expected Indian Line-up, H2H Record, Upcoming Schedule, Date, Time, And Venue
Each of the four pools contains four teams, and each team will play each other team in the pool once. The group’s top team advances directly to the quarterfinals after all games are completed. The second and third-place teams in each group, however, will advance to the round of 16.
India’s second match in the Women’s Hockey World Cup is vital because of the previous match’s draw with England. The Indian women’s team’s season got off to an exciting 1-1 draw and it continues on Tuesday at 8 PM as China will now play India. In the meantime, China’s opening tournament game ended in a 2-2 draw with New Zealand.
When it comes to head-to-head records, India has a tiny advantage over China. India has won 11 of the 21 games, compared to China’s nine. One game only had a tie. Deep Grace Ekka, the vice-captain, Gurjit Kaur, Udita, and Nikki Pradhan will be in charge of monitoring the backline, and Sushila Chanu, Neha Goyal, Navjot Kaur, Sonika, Jyoti, Nisha, and Monika will be in charge of planning the attacks.
Salima Tete, who has been in fantastic form and is known for his explosive dashes down the flanks, will need to play the linking position. Goal-scoring duties will fall on seasoned players Vandana Katariya, Lalremsiami, Navneet Kaur, and Sharmila Devi.
