According to sources, Pandey has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with a case involving the National Stock Exchange co-location fraud, which the Central Bureau of Investigation is already looking into.
When the market manipulation occurred, it is claimed that a company founded by Pandey was doing security assessments at the National Stock Exchange. An official informed PTI that the former commissioner of the Mumbai Police is set to appear before the agency’s Delhi office on Tuesday.

Who Is Sanjay Pandey?
Sanjay Pandey was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, on September 30, 1962. He’s 59 years old. He is presently a resident of Mumbai, Maharashtra.
He attended the local private high school for his earlier education. Later, he earned his degree in IT computer engineering from IIT Kanpur. He then completed a master’s degree in Public Administration at Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, the USA in 1998.
According to the reports, he is married and has children. However, their names are not yet revealed.
His Career
Sanjay Pandey is a part of the 1986 IPS batch. As DCP of the Narcotics Department in 1995, he took tough measures against the city’s drug cartels. Investigations into the Abhuday Bank fraud, the leather scam, and corruption were conducted under the 1997 Economic Offenses Wing.
He was deployed under the security of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in SPG in 1999. He left the IPS in 2001, withdrew his resignation in 2002, and when it was finally accepted in 2003, Sanjay Pandey filed a lawsuit against it.
After 20 years of service in his IPS career, he returned to the workforce in 2005 and decided to apply for VRS. After VRS was not located and no posting was made, he went to court and, as a result of a court order, returned to duty in 2011.
While residing as the Controller Major of the Legal Metrology Department in the year 2014–2015, he caught the builders who were stealing from the carpet area in the apartments. He later became Homeguard’s ADG in 2015 and its DG while still in the same position.
After former commissioner Parambir Singh was fired, he was elevated to become the commissioner of Mumbai in his most recent position.
