She contested as Miss University of Alabama this year, defeating 39 rivals to win the state crown for 2022. Now, Fincher will go on to compete in the Miss America pageant as Alabama’s representative.

Lauren Bradford, Miss Alabama 2021, relinquishes the title to Fincher. On Saturday, Bradford crowned her successor and gave her a bouquet of roses.
When her triumph was revealed on stage, Fincher said she felt a range of emotions. As she said,
I cannot believe it. It has not fully set in yet, but I am so excited.
She added,
I will admit, the first reaction was shock. I could not believe it that it was my name being called. I’ve watched Miss Alabama be crowned for years, and this time it was my name, but after that, just gratitude. I am so thankful and so excited.
