On Sunday, dismissed IPS officer Basant Rath posted on social media. He would be leaving his position and hinted that he would soon enter politics and run for office from Kashmir.

“Politics is a wonderful vocation,” Rath stated in his well-known, unconfirmed Twitter handle “KangriCarrier.” Rath will be serving out the remainder of his two-year ban next month.
Rath said, “I wish to step down from the Indian Police Service in addition to being able to play an active role in democratic elections.” He then handed over a copy of his termination letter, which was acknowledged to J&K Secretary-General Arun Kumar Mehta and stamped to General Directorate of Police Dilbag Singh as well as Commanding officer General Home Guard H K Lohia. In a response letter on June 25, he requested that his employer “accept this message as my application for decision to resign retirement & take the appropriate action.

Investigating Officer of Police for Jammu and Kashmir Police Basant Rath was born in 1972 and is currently aged 50 years. He graduated from Jawaharlal Nehru University in 2000 and is a member of the Indian Police Service (IPS).
Rath was raised in the Odisha hamlet of Uttarkashi in the Puri district’s Pipli. His dad, Hrushikesh, was a landowner and a local priest. While he is married, his wife’s and chidren’s name is not known.
Rath began lending books to kids during his probationary time in 2002 when he was a freshly recruited IPS officer in Mandi (Jammu and Kashmir). In the latter half of 2002, his campaign had expanded and became more coordinated.
