The 24 Hours of Le Mans is a difficult race to win. These are the hours when a driver must race, but they must also do well in relays with their colleagues, and there must be highly exact coordination work in the pits, all of which must be done for 24 hours. What is the amount of money awarded to the winner of the race?
Although winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans, like the Indy 500 and the Monaco Grand Prix, is unquestionably connected with huge status and longing for every driver, the truth is that winning this event does not represent a large sum of money (especially if we compare them with the Indy 500 prize).
The awards are as follows: qualified pilots will receive โฌ7,000 in assistance, while race class champions will receive โฌ10,000. The overall winner will take home โฌ40,000, second place will take home โฌ25,000, and third place will take home โฌ20,000.
Of course, no driver will walk away with a million dollars, but the dignity of winning this race is unquestionably more valuable than any award.
