In the midst of all of this new information, fans of both the singer and the soccer player are wondering why they never married, a question that has been put to both of them on multiple occasions.
Pique has never shied away from the matter, and he most recently discussed why he hasn’t married Shakira during an interview with Gary Neville, a former Manchester United teammate.
“I saw a comment she made saying she didn’t want to get married, and you keep seeing her as forbidden fruit to keep you on your toes,” Neville said to the Barcelona defender.
Gerard responded to Neville’s email. “Yes, it is his point of view. We don’t see the need in getting married because we appreciate where we are now and how we work together.”
Pique replied violently when Neville indicated that he had proposed to the Colombian but she had declined. “No, no, no, no If that were the case, I would say I had no reservations, but that is not the case.”

Shakira has also been open about her reasons for not marrying Pique, revealing that she is frightened of marriage and does not want to lose Pique’s love.
