Badminton was formally launched in 1992 in the Olympics. The sport of badminton is not just about the medals as the Indian badminton players have numerous memorable and remarkable moments. Indians have always seen rocking the editions of badminton competitions.

India’s Best Badminton Player At The Summer Olympics
1- Sindhu’s semi-final triumph
She is India’s one and only silver medalist in badminton at the Olympics. She achieved this position in her first-ever game in Olympics. This moment was one of the most iconic moments in the Indian badminton Olympic history.
2- Nehwal’s sporting gesture
At the 2012 London Olympics, the opponent player China’s Xin Wang was leading against Saina Nehwal after the first game. Unfortunately at the start of the second game, Xin Wang was forced to retire after suffering a knee injury. This meant Indian player Saina Nehwal became India’s first medal winner for badminton in the Olympics. Saina was quick to console her Chinese opponent instead of celebrating the moment.
3- Gutta-Ponnappa’s unfortunate exit
Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa had to bow out delinquent to their loss against Japanese players Mizuki Fujii and Reika Kakiiwa. They ended in second place but went through thanks to a better toe-to-toe record in the competition against the Indian players.
4- Srikanth’s tussle with a familiar foe
The winner of all the Olympic Games at Rio 2016 and then faced a familiar foe in China’s Lin Dan in the quarterfinals. The Tussle had shocked the world by beating Dan at the China Open Super Series but retarding Olympic champion managed to get the better of Kidambi in Rio 2016. He played one of the most competitive games of the tournament.
5- Kissing the silver
PV Sindhu was one of India’s two medal winners at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Despite losing PV Sindhu reticent a special place for her in Indian badminton history. She became the first silver medalist from the nation for that sport by her stunning game throughout the competition. Sindhu has always given her 110% in each and every match of her career to date.
