2022 FIH Hockey 5s Tournament History, New Format, And Participating Teams

The Hero FIH Hockey5s Lausanne 2022 event is FIH’s first official senior World Hockey5s competition, and it builds on the success of previous Hockey5s events across the world, notably the Youth Olympic Games events in Nanjing 2014 and Buenos Aires 2018.

Hockey5s Lausanne 2022 will be held on June 4-5 in the heart of the Olympic Capital Lausanne. It will be two days of hockey action, excitement, and entertainment.

The men’s teams from India, Malaysia, Pakistan, Poland, and Switzerland will compete in a round robin event with a final between the two best teams.

The tournament will include some incredible fast and skilled hockey play for spectators. Hockey5s is a faster, more furious version of the game. A match consists of two 10-minute halves, with the ball in play for 90% of the time thanks to perimeter boards off which the ball can be played.

If Dilpreet has 63 caps, Malaysia’s Nabil Noor is a true veteran of the game. The skipper, who has made 239 international appearances, will attempt to lead his talented team to their first title.

Throughout the twentieth century, Pakistani men led the way in the sport, and it will be thrilling to see what this young squad can achieve in a new version of the game. The Pakistan team’s ultra close talents will benefit from the speed and intensity.
