All matches were best of seven sets up to and including the Quarter-Finals, with the Semi-Finals best of nine and the final best of thirteen. Each set was awarded to the winner of the best of three legs.

After defeating Phil Taylor 6–3 in the final of World Seniors Darts Masters, David Cameron was crowned the first champion. Cameron’s success was even more amazing because he had to win a qualification to compete in this event, and he would not have been able to compete in the qualifier if he had won his opening match at the 2022 WDF World Darts Championship.

David Cameron lost in the first round of the WDF World Championship at Lakeside to Ian Jones 2-1 in sets, but instead of returning to Canada, ‘Excalibur’ stayed and competed in the World Seniors Darts Masters qualifying.

Cameron became the first World Seniors Darts Master as a result of his decision. He was a 33/1 underdog before the action began, but he has since defeated Kevin Painter, Robert Thornton, Colin Monk, Richie Howson, and now Phil Taylor in a 6-3 sets win at the home of World Darts.
