Activision has revealed the release date of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 in 2022, as well as pre-order bonus and beta information for three CoD MW2 editions
We’re also waiting for word on Warzone 2 in addition to a release of CoD MW2. The game is set to release in 2023. And sources indicate that there will be a new terrain featuring swimming mechanics.
While a Warzone 2 announcement is awaited, MW2 is closer at hand, and some intriguing leaks have appeared.

That teaser also hints at a possible release date for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare June 8. Just a few days before Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest begins.
Aside from that, the teaser features a drone-captured glimpse at real-world artwork starring Mexican Special Forces personnel Captain John Price, Ghost, John “Soap” MacTavish, Kyle “Gaz” Garrick, and Colonel Alejandro Vargas. There are no games.
Modern Warfare 2 is a direct sequel to Modern Warfare, which was released in 2019.IT was Infinity Ward’s reboot of the sub-brand that began in 2007 in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Activision has announced that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is by far the most successful game to date.
Activision revealed the title & logo for the new Call of Duty in April, naming it (officially) Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II to distinguish it from the 2009 game of the same name.
According to leaked pre-order incentives for Modern Warfare 2 2022, an open beta will be offered first on PlayStation.
This isn’t unprecedented; it happened before with MW & Vanguard. If the rumours are true, it will mark the continuation of Sony and Activision’s collaboration.
More than early access for pre-orders first and dibs on PlayStation. No other facts have been revealed other than the existence of a CoD MW2 beta. According to Activision’s artwork reveal trailer, more will be unveiled on June 8th. So hopefully we’ll hear more about a playable demo soon.
