Battlegrounds Mobile India, also known as BGMI is facing some issues before its launch and could face a ban. BGMI is accused of having relations with Chinese company Tencent
Twitter saw a flood of tweets on 10th June regarding the ban of BGMI. And, the hashtag banbgmi was trending third on Twitter. Moreover, the reason behind the tweets was the Chinese connections. Earlier, PUBG Mobile, a game developed by Tencent was banned by the Indian Government. It was banned under Act 69A and was accused of sharing data with the Chinese Government.
The PUBG Mobile alternative, named BGMI is developed by Krafton and is a South Korean company. So, why there are still demands of banning the game?
Battlegrounds Mobile India Ban: Relations With Tencent Games Owner And PUBG Will Cause A Ban?
Battlegrounds Mobile India is developed by Krafton. Krafton is a South Korean company that developed the famous PUBG Pc. Moreover, Krafton was founded two years back and was owned by Bluehole company. Later on, PUBG PC was banned in China, and then Tencent wanted to develop a similar game like that.
Tencent owned shares in Krafton and expressed its desire to develop a mobile version of the game. Furthermore, the game PUBG Mobile was released in China and became a hit and later released worldwide. So, it was Tencent who developed the PUBG Mobile and Krafton PUBG PC.
Tencent has a share of 15.5% in Krafton and is the second-highest stakeholder after the CEO Chang Byung-Gyu (16.4%). Now, Krafton’s new game BGMI is facing some criticism for this relationship with Tencent. However, they said that this game is developed by Krafton and Tencent has no right on this game.
In the boycott tweets last day, there were some famous leaders demanding the security check of the game. Ashok Nete an MLA from Maharashtra asked to take action against the game.

Prashant Umrao, an advocate of the Supreme Court also dropped his concern over the game.

Although, there is no reply from the officials on this. The Content creators of the game are not worried and they believe that Krafton has all the permissions it requires. So, it means we will see the game soon and if everything goes well, then in the third week of June.
