The Chessable Masters is the fourth of the 2022 Meltwater Champions Chess Tour’s nine events, we take a look at the knockout draw, format, schedule, standings, results and other details of the tournament
The round-robin stage of the online tournament featured sixteen players, with eight moving on to the knockout stage. Starting today, fans will be able to enjoy the thrilling knockout matches.
Chessable Masters 2022 Chess Rules And Format
The Chessable Masters’ round-robin stages will feature a football-style 3 point for a victory, 1 point for a tie scoring system, with participants earning monetary bonuses for each rapid game played. A win will net the players $750, while a tie would net them $250.
Tournament Rules
The players have 15 minutes to execute all of their movements, plus a 10-second increment, starting with move 1. In the preliminary round, a win earns 3 points, while a tie earns 1 point.
If a tiebreak is required, the players will play two 5+3 games and, if necessary, a single Armageddon game, in which White has 5 minutes and Black has 4, with a tie resulting in a Black victory. There are no draw offers allowed before move 40.

The tournament will run from May 19 to May 26, with each day’s play beginning at 16:00 GMT (21:30 IST). The action will be aired live from the chess24 studio in Oslo, with commentary.

Chessable Masters 2022 Prize Money Pool Breakdown
The in-game rewards can reach $90,000, with the remaining prize monies distributed based on the participants’ positions. The tournament has a total prize money of $150,000.

Chessable Masters 2022 Chess Quarter-Final Draw, Schedule, Prelims Standings And Results
Anish Giri won a remarkable game against Wei Yi and drew with Magnus Carlsen and Aryan Tari to end the Chessable Masters Prelims a point ahead of Magnus, who expressed disappointment with his performance. After some significant swings in the final round, we also have Carlsen-Anton, Ding Liren-Mamedyarov, and Praggnanandhaa-Wei Yi in the quarterfinals.
