Deshaun Watson Says He Apologized To Ashley Solis

Deshaun Watson, the quarterback for the Cleveland Browns, is facing 22 civil lawsuits from women accusing him of misconduct including one from Ashley Solis

He admitted during pretrial testimony last week that the massage with one of the plaintiffs ended in tears. According to USA TODAY’s Brent Schrottenbauer, Watson said he texted massage therapist Ashley Solis an apology.

“I’m sorry you are uncomfortable,” Watson wrote, according to a screenshot previously released by Solis’ attorneys. “It was never the intention. Talk to me if you want to work in the future. My apologies.”

Watson claimed he didn’t know why he was crying when asked why he apologized. Solis was the first woman to accuse Watson of intentionally exposing himself and touching her after asking her to focus on his area. She had gone onto subsequently end the message well ahead of its schedule.

“Yes, because she was teary-eyed,” Watson answered. “And I was trying to figure out what was going on. So, I assumed she was uncomfortable for whatever reason. And we talked about working on the future. So, I said, ‘We can work in the future. I know.’ And then I sent her my apologies for whatever reason she was teary-eyed.”

Watson testified again in June, but no litigation is expected until after February, according to Schrotenboer. Two Texas grand juries declined to indict anyone. Watson will meet with NFL officials this week to discuss whether he should be disciplined under the league’s personal conduct policy.
