Who is Kamlesh Jain?
The Current KKR physio is in line to become the Indian cricket team’s physio. Kamlesh Jain is a Chennai boy who has impressed the BCCI secretary Jay Shah and NCA head VVS Laxman. Kamlesh has been with KKR for seven years straight now. He was an assistant coach till 2019 and Andrew Leipus was the Head at that time. Now it’s been 3 years since Kamlesh has taken over as head coach of KKR.
Kamlesh Jain is likely to replace Nitin Patel
Nitin Patel is currently the head Physio of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) along with Yogesh Parmar. Patel was named as the head physio at the beginning of this year only at Bengaluru.
Kamlesh will be called to action in the upcoming T20 series against South Africa on the home soil. Yogesh Parmar who was an assistant physio along with Nitin Patel will still remain in the position. Kamlesh has impressed everyone in the BCCI along with Head coach Rahul Dravid.
First Rohit Sharma replaced Kohli as the captain of the team and then Rahul Dravid replaced Ravi Shastri in the team and now the inclusion of Kamlesh. It’s very clear that the team India is looking for a change ahead of the T20 world cup coming up this year. India will be eyeing to win a world cup down under.
While his contract and salary details are yet to be revealed, in 2017, the BCCI announced that the salary of Patrick Farhart, the physio appointed by the Indian Cricket Team, amounted to ₹1.17 crore for the period of one year and two months.
