After Their New Away Kit Was Supposedly Leaked, NEWCASTLE UNITED Will Apparently Use the Same Colours as Saudi Arabia Next Season In 2022/23
The Castore-designed jersey will feature the Gulf State’s characteristic green and white colours.
Newcastle United 2022/23 Season Away Kit Leaked
The Saudi-based Public Investment Fund owns 80% of the Premier League club. And now, according to the Daily Mail, their new away shirt will pay tribute to them with its new appearance.
The official Newcastle club badge, as well as the sleeves and collar trim, are all green. And it will be set against an all-white backdrop, evoking the Saudi national flag.
The Magpies will most likely see it as an opportunity to boost money through shirt sales in the Middle East while also “representing their owners” next season.
Fans Reaction
After the design was leaked on social media, some fans seemed to Like It. However, not everyone was happy when they immediately recognised the Saudi ties.
“Now where did they get the inspiration for this?” one supporter wondered.
“Looks fairly sophisticated, but yeah, Saudi boys,” said another.
“That’s the most Saudi Arabian-styled kit you’ll ever see!” commented another Toon fan.
“That’s dreadful,” said another.
Manager Eddie Howe on Up-Coming Summer Transfer
Meanwhile, manager Eddie Howe recently dismissed the notion that the club will have an unlimited budget to spend during the summer transfer window.
“With Financial Fair Play, we have restrictions and things that we have to work within,” he explained.
“We can’t just go out and spend money on players as other teams have in the past, and completely overhaul our roster in a single transfer window. For us, that is not an option.”
However it looks unlikely that the club will not be going hammer and tongs in the summer owing to the massive money which the owners have accrued. Also with Howe overhauling the dreary form of the club and unlocking its true potential, the club looks set to move in for a raft of names to bolster its numbers.
