Since its start in 1995, the Electronic Entertainment Expo was the largest event for announcing new games and development updates. The event, which took place in the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, California, saw the beginnings of the contemporary gaming industry.
As the gaming business developed to become not only a popular entertainment medium and also a united global sensation, E3 extended into the digital media. It streamed the activities while maintaining a physical presence with shoes and presence just on the expo floor. On the other hand, the pandemic of 2020 changed everything.
When is the Summer Game Fest 2022?
After E3 was abruptly cancelled in 2020, businesses were left with a lot of marketing materials. New trailers for previously announced games, gameplay clips, and new interesting tiles are among them. Two extra Summer of Games events has indeed been announced in addition to the main event. The two events are the Tribeca Games Spotlight, an auteur gaming event, and the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase.
Summer Game Fest 2022 will become the largest gaming event of the summer due to the cancellation of E3. Electronic Arts have also confirmed that the EA Play Live will not be held this year. This indicates that any future EA titles, such as the Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order sequel, will most likely premiere at Summer Game Fest 2022.
Vanguard was unveiled by Activision in July of last year, far after the Summer of Games. This year, though, things appear to be different, as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II seems to be nearing completion. Updates on games like Gotham Knights, Hogwarts Legacy or Final Fantasy XVI will also be available at the event.
