According to her family, Kailia Posey, one of the most recognisable faces on the internet, died in Washington. She was 16 years old at the time. Marcy Posey Gatterman, her mother, shared the terrible news on Facebook. In the post, she wrote,
I don’t have words or any thoughts. A beautiful baby girl is gone. Please give us privacy as we mourn the loss of Kailia. My baby forever.
Posey rose to fame after starring in TLC’s “Toddlers & Tiaras” when she was five years old. A GIF of her smiling face became an international sensation as well. So, let’s find out more about her and her death.
Who Was Kailia Posey?
Kailia Posey was born on April 19, 2006, in Los Angeles, Nevada, United States of America. Steve Gatterman is her step-father’s name, and Marcy Posey Gatterman is her mother’s name. Kai Gatterman and Nick Gatterman, her two older step-brothers, complete up her family.
She is an American citizen who practises Christianity. She went to Lynden High School and was on the Dean’s List for the 2020-2021 academic year. When she was in college, she wanted to study aviation with the ultimate goal of becoming a commercial pilot.
Her Career
Kailia Posey is most known for starring in the reality show Toddlers & Tiaras, and as part of her skill, her mother taught her to be a contortionist. According to some stories, Kailia began competing in pageants when she was three years old.
As she grew older, Kailia continued to compete in pageants and has also performed with Cirque du Soleil. While she was mostly focused on her career in pageantry, the youngster also dabbled in acting in 2018, as Agnes in the Netflix horror film “Eli.” In February 2022, she declared that she will compete once again.
She acted in Toddlers & Tiaras. In 2019, she worked in a film named ‘Eli’ along with Kelly Reilly and Sadie Sink. She had recently completed a Miss Washington Teen USA. She had also earned the title of Miss Lynden Teen USA last year.
Death Cause Of Kailia Posey
At first, her family didn’t reveal how she died but in a later statement, they revealed she died of suicide. They said,
Although she was an accomplished teenager with a bright future ahead of her, unfortunately in one impetuous moment, she made the rash decision to end her earthly life.
Kailia’s family has established the Kailia Posey Teen Crisis Intervention Fund in order to provide “critical services to kids in crisis.”
The 16-year-old beauty queen was declared dead at Birch Bay State Park, Washington, at roughly 1.20 p.m. on Monday, according to Washington State Patrol (WSP) Trooper Jacob Kennett. He didn’t say anything about the cause of death or whether or not allegations of a car being involved were real.
It was reported on Tuesday that Posey was possibly killed in a car accident in Las Vegas but the Clark County Coroner said they had no record of her in their system.
The teen’s death occurred about two weeks after she turned 16 years old.
