Know about the PEL 2022 spring playoffs, the teams, format, schedule, date, points table and prize money

The regular season of the PEL 2022 Spring, a $4.4 million mega tournament ended recently, with world champions Nova Esports taking first place with an overwhelming performance.

The squad scored 834 points in total, winning two of the six weekly finals. With 738 points, including two final victories, The Chosen nicknamed TC was in second place.

The PEL 2022 structure has been updated by Tencent, the publisher of Game for Peace, by introducing Playoffs between the season opener and the finals. Instead of FPP, the event has been played in TPP format.

The Playoffs Stage, which will take place between April 28 and May 8, will feature these 21 clubs once again. There will be a total of eight match days in the Playoffs.

Spring Playoffs format for PEL 2022

The regular season’s top 15 teams will compete, with table toppers advancing to the Grand Finals. The bottom 14 teams from Days 1-2, as well as the regular season’s 16th place team (J Team), will compete, with the top two teams advancing to the finals.

The next bottom 13 teams from Days 3-4, as well as the 17th and 18th place teams from the regular season, will compete for three Grand Finals spots.

The bottom 12 teams of Days 6-7, as well as the 19th, 20th, and 21st positions from the regular season will compete for nine Grand Finals tickets in the last battle. The other teams will be removed from the competition.

The event’s grand finals will begin on May 19 and last through May 22. During the four days of finals, a total of 20 matches will be played.

  • 11th ¥ 40,000
  • 12th ¥ 20,000

The defending champion STE finished 10th in the regular season, while PMGC 2020 finished 13th. Weibo Gaming, the winner of the Peace Elite Asia Invitational 2021, came in seventh, while TEC, which did win the third Weekly Finals, came in ninth.

The remaining teams in the round, along with the 16th-place club, JTeam, will battle for the top two spots in the Grand Finals in the second round of the Playoffs, which begins today.
