The Khelo India University Games 2022 began on April 24 in Bengaluru and the national competition will last till May 3, know the medal tally and results
The first-ever edition of the Khelo India University Games (KIUG) was held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha in 2020 as part of the Indian government’s Khelo India program to encourage grassroots sports and recognize emerging talents from throughout the country.
The event is an inter-university meet in which athletes from various institutes around the country compete for medals in a number of athletic activities. The 2020 edition featured 206 medal events across 17 sports.

Panjab University in Chandigarh led the 2020 medals table with 46 medals – 17 gold, 19 silver, and 10 bronze.
The second edition of the Khelo India University Games, KIUG 2021, was postponed last year owing to COVID-19. This year’s postponed event will take place across many sites in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
In all, 3,800 athletes from 189 universities will compete in 275 different medal events spanning 20 sports and 20 disciplines. In addition, two indigenous sports, yogasana and mallakhamb, will be included in the schedule for this edition.
The other 18 sports include archery, badminton, basketball, boxing, fencing, football, hockey, judo, kabaddi, karate, shooting, swimming, table tennis, tennis, volleyball, weightlifting, and wrestling.
At the KIUG 2021, top Indian athletes such as Dutee Chand, Srihari Nataraj, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Divyansh Singh Panwar, Manu Bhaker, and Srihari Nataraj will compete.

As of Day 3, 57 universities had earned a medal at KIUG 2021, with 24 claiming at least one gold.
